Slicing Flitches are a high grade, edge grain board or timber with even color and even grain straight as a die. These flitches would be the next best thing to music wood.

Select Timbers will produce slicing flitches In Western Red Cedar, Douglas
Fir & Western Hemlock when we spy it. Or when we have an order we’ll
go on safari to seek out those logs.
Though its not always possible to find those high grade logs, (like tone
wood), it’s usually fun looking.
