BOAT LUMBER
At Select Timbers we are always storing those grand old logs that may have deep clear in them for the boat builder. These old growth logs have the nice tight growth rings which make the finest edge grain boards and timbers sought after for boatbuilding.

We try to keep a decent selection of high grade Western Red Cedar, Sitka
Spruce, Douglas Fir and Yellow Cedar in the yard for these special orders
where perfect clear edge grain boards and timbers are required.
Presently we are producing timbers and lumber up to 28’ in length,
but over the next few weeks we will be stretching our mills out to 60
foot lengths. This will obviously benefit our ‘super timbers’
production for the future as well as our long spruce spar grade and boat
lumber boards, which are often requested to 40 feet. We also have the
ability to cut timbers to 80 feet with a specialized mill we utilize up
north.
Long special cuts, or unusual shapes…! From time to time we collect
sweeper or bent logs for certain stem timbers or knees. We’ve even
harvested ships knees on occasion.
Just ask and we ‘ll see what we can do…and given time for
the unusual, we can definitely acquire it up north.
